Much of the U.S. economy is paralyzed as the country struggles to contain the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. As some parts of the economy are beginning to reopen, many businesses are cutting jobs and roughly 20 million Americans remain unemployed, while large swaths of American workers are struggling to get back on their feet. The job losses have disproportionately hurt women, minorities and less-educated workers. The public health crisis also is exposing the gap in paid family and medical leave benefits and how lower income workers bear the brunt of this disparity.
Join POLITICO on Thursday, July 16, for a virtual, deep-dive conversation on the economic recovery after Covid-19. The program will explore how recovery will affect different sectors of the American workforce and what measures and policies need to be implemented to help Americans get back to work.
